Client brief
Architecture Discipline’s reimagination of Bellevue creates a contemporary reflection of the timeless architectural masterpiece it faces, the Taj Mahal. Designed to offer unique experiences at all times of the day, the restaurant adopts a new language that is responsive to today’s changing palates.
The central element of Bellevue’s visual language is its cross-vaulted ceiling — inspired from Mughal architecture, the cross-vaults merge into flared columns to create a monolithic expression finished in white plaster. Together with the ribbed walls of the restaurant, it renders the space with a sculpted appearance.
